Shop – located on Ruswarp High Street, turn left at the bottom of the road to the cottage. It isabout 5 minutes drive away. Open daily except Sundays.

Butcher / baker…. – Jacksons butchers in Ruswarp offers great local meat, hot sadwiches & drinks, bakery items, fabulous pies and even fresh ready meals if you don’t fancy cooking. Open daily with parking behind. Located on Ruswarp high street.

Pub – The Bridge Inn in Ruswarp – located opposite the train station offers great food as well as drinks. Check opening times if visiting in winter

Supermarket – there is a Sainsbury’s Aldi & Lidl to choose from in Whitby

Bus stop – The main bus stop is located in Ruswarp village – opposite the church. There are local buses to Whitby and the Coastliner stops here. More info can be found here

Train Station – There is a train station in Ruswarp, you can catch the train here to Whitby and surrounding villages. To catch the steam train you would need to travel to Whitby and then change. To view timetables click here

Cafe – Ruswarp Riverside Cafe is located at opposite the road leading to the cottage. Boasting beautiful views of the river and tasty snacks its a must to visit

Petrol Station – the nearest petrol station is the shell garage located in Whitby

Ruswarp Pleasure Boats – Open from March to October you can hire row boats, paddle board and canoes on the river Esk

Ruswarp Miniature Railway – Open from May to October & School holidays, ride a miniature steam train & visit the riverside cafe

Mini Monsterz – A lovely soft play centre for younger children, opposite the boat hire.

Falling Foss Waterfall walk & Cafe – This lovely waterfall offers a walk and areas for children to paddle including a lovely cafe offering sweet treats
